  • Pretend that there were an assay that was a 'back box' that told you whether or not a sentinel lymph node for breast cancer had a focus of metastatic disease > 0.2 mm. This assay had a greater sensitivity than perminant section analysis (an additional 4% of cases are positive), and a greater senitivity than intraoperative frozen section analysis (an addition 5-10% of cases are positive). However, using the assay PRECLUDES histologic analysis of 50% of the lymph node. Would you use this test
