It can be caused by a number of different diseases including: Crescentic glomerulonephritis (rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis), focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), Membranous nephropathy, Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, IgA nephropathy (10% progress to ESRD), Poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (1% progress to ESRD), Lupus Nephritis (20% progress to ESRD - overall, but different classes have different prognoses). |
