Iago - Very cool case. Does this present with thyroid function abnormalities? Does this usually occur in conjunction with the pulmonary toxcity reported for amiodarone?

Pathdoc, patients treated with amioderone can present with clinical hyperthyroidism. In these patients thyroid follicles may distend and rupture releasing thyroid hormone, which is a proposed mechanism for the clinical association. I'm not sure about it's association with pulmonary toxicity though.

W/ regards to clinical presentation of Amiodarone toxicity of thryoid gland. There are actually clinical subsets. 1) females, pts from developed worlds (iodine repleted) tend to become hypothyroid. 2) males, pts from land-locked countries (iodine depleted) tend to develop thyrotoxicosis.
